The Carlisle Chamber of Commerce discussed details of the upcoming local Christian workforce event during the Jan. 8 Chamber meeting.
Carlisle United Methodist Church Pastor Randy Rowlan presented an informational video to Chamber members, which was an overview for the one day Work as Worship retreat for the business community.
Presenters will focus on real life stories on what it means for Christians in the workplace to see their work as an act of worship. Some sessions will offer inspirational stories of leaders who have experience combing their faith with their work. Other sessions will deliver applications for practically living out faith at work.
Speakers for the event are to be Patrick Lencioni, New York Best-Selling author of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team; Matt Chandler, Lead Pastor at the Village Church in Dallas Texas; Joel Manby; President and CEO of SeaWorld and Author of Love Works; Anne Beiler, Founder of Auntie Anne’s, Speaker and Author of Twist of Faith; Phil Vischer, Creator of VeggieTales and founder of Jellyfish Labs; Christopher Brooks, Senior Pastor of Evangel Ministries in Detroit, MI; Norm Miller, Chairman of Interstate Batteries; Tom Nelson, President of Made to Flourish and Senior Pastor at Christ Community Church; CEO of First Liberty Institute and frequent guest on FOX, CNN, ABC and NBC; Bryant Ambelang, CEO of NatureSweet Tomatoes; Wendy Davidson, President of US Specialty Channels Kellogg Company and more.
The one day event will be on Feb. 23 at the Carlisle United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 215 E 3rd St. Cost is $25 per person. Registration must be completed online at www.workasworshipretreat.org. Registrants will receive a ticket, digital programs and event details upon registration. Lunch will be provided to attendees.
The event is open to anyone in Carlisle and surrounding communities.
The next Carlisle Chamber of Commerce meeting will be noon Feb. 12 at the Civic Center. Lunch will be provided for $10.
