The Lonoke City Council met for a special meeting on Monday night to discuss properties being considered for condemnation and to approve the 2018 budget.
Woody Evans was absent from the meeting.
Properties being considered for condemnation were the highlight on Monday.
For properties located at 221 Vassar and 319 Reynolds, the Council unanimously approved to have a title search completed and to proceed with the condemnation process. The property at 104 Willow Loop and 5th Street Apartments were given until the March City Council meeting to make improvements. For the property at 502 Barnes St., probate attorney’s have hired Randy Phillips to tear down the property. A letter for the property at 217 Harrison will be sent out and asked to report at the February Council meeting.
In other business, the Council amended the 2017 operating budget and approved the $12 million operating budget for 2018.
Also during the meeting, the Council unanimously approved to spend $3,878.08 for the relocation of the city’s internet equipment.
The next regularly scheduled City Council meeting will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 12 at city hall.
