On a rainy and dreary Thursday, March 1, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their weekly community events.
Cecelia Anderson opened the program by having 12 attendees recite the “Pledge of Allegiance.” and sing “God Bless America.” Carol McArthur gave the invocation, Thanking God for our many blessings and praying for our friends and neighbors that are on the sick list. Special prayers were said for Anita Weathers, Barry Weathers, Mary Thate, Dorothy Henry and for many of our friend trying to recover from the flu.
After singing “Amazing Grace,” The Woodlawn Community Center was indeed blessed to have a wonderful talented friend, a composer and singer for their program (Mr. Glenn Pool.) He is noted for his wonderful song “The Perfect World.” After singing many songs, he blessed the noon meal, there was a bountiful dinner. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship.
This Thursday March 8, will be “Friendship Day.” We will be playing Bingo. Everyone is invited to join us, and enjoy our Community Center at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 north.
Come early for a cup of coffee and a friendly face. When you visit, bring a dish for potluck.
