The Lonoke Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its members and the community this Saturday, April 21, at the 49th Annual Appreciation Banquet. The theme of this year’s event it “Cultivating Community” and will focus on recognizing the contributions of the Chamber’s membership to the Lonoke area.


“Our Executive Director Hannah Harris is leading our Board in a season of gratitude for our members and their work,” said Ryan Biles, Chamber Vice President. “This is a key time in the life of our community, and the Chamber is leading the way in promoting those volunteers who are doing the hard work of empowering our revitalization.”


This year’s keynote presenters will be Mallorie and Jim Rasberry, along with Josh Nowell, who co-star on the hit cable television series “Home Town” on HGTV. The television show, based in Laurel, Miss., follows the work of Ben and Erin Napier, friends and business partners of the Rasberrys and Nowells, who are investing in restoring the historic built fabric of their community. Mallorie, Jim, and Josh appear alongside the Napiers each week, and recently presented their work in the closing plenary at the national “Main Street NOW” conference in Kansas City, a gathering of communities affiliated with the Main Street America organization.


The banquet will once again be held at the Gina Cox Center on the campus of Lonoke High School. The evening will begin with a buffet catered by King Kat., Dinner service starts at 5:30 p.m. and will conclude at 6 p.m. when the program begins. Guests are asked to arrive early for seating and social time, and proceed through the buffet lines when they arrive.


This year, the Lonoke Area Chamber of Commerce has made sponsorships available to business partners in the community, who may learn more by contacting Executive Director Hannah Harris, or Planning Committee member Ryan Biles. Sponsorships allow the Chamber to provide a scholarship to a Lonoke High School Senior involved in FBLA and the Chamber’s internship program.
