Wendell Scales Jr., a 2007 graduate of Lonoke High School, recently served as the keynote speaker at the Delta Gentlemen Banquet, a black-tie event sponsored by the Forrest City Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The event is the culmination of motivational and thought-provoking sessions, which expose the high school senior boys and their escorts to college and career readiness skills, etiquette, and personal branding.

Scales, who now lives in Little Rock, is the Director of College and Career Advising at Jacksonville-Lighthouse Academies. In December, he will be receiving a Master of Arts Degree in Higher Education.

Scales is the son of Ellice (Miller) Scales and the late Windell Scales Sr. His twin sister, Whitney, also lives in Little Rock.
