On Thursday, April 19, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their weekly community events.

Cecelia Anderson opened the program by having 18 attendees recite the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and sing “God Bless America,” accompanied by Glenn Pool on the piano.

Janet Ray gave the invocation, thanking God for our many blessings and praying for our friends and neighbors that are on the sick list and unable to attend. Sue Grady paid the center a surprise visit.

We need to start a “Neighborhood Crime Watch.” Cecelia said she would get more information.

After singing “Amazing Grace,” The Woodlawn Community Center was indeed blessed to have our wonderful talented friend, a composer and singer Mr. Glenn Pool present an inspirational program. Glenn is famous for composing and singing “The Perfect World.” After singing many songs, he blessed the noon meal. Everyone enjoyed their dinner.

This Thursday, April 26, our inspirational guest will be Mary and Jerome Gentry a wonderful singing evangelist couple, presenting a musical and religious awakening program for everyone at Woodlawn. They also visit rest homes and hospitals. Their main song is “Let’s have Church.”

Come join us on Thursdays, at the Woodlawn Community Center, 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 north.

Come early for a cup of coffee, and bring a dish for dinner.
