On Thursday, June 7, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their doors at 10:30 a.m. for their weekly community events.

President Cecelia Anderson open the program of the day by having 19 attendees recite the “Pledge of Allegiance,” and sing “God Bless America.” Accompanied by Anita Weathers on the piano.

Fred Staley gave the invocation, thanking God for our many blessings, and praying for our friends and neighbors that are sick and unable to attend. Prayers were said for Dorothy Henry, facing many cancer treatments. Judy Johnson, C. L.Ott, Brenda Ott, Andy Childress, Kern Kenedy, Jimmy Taylor, and Kay Barnes, recovering from shoulder surgery.

After singing “Amazing Grace,”The Community Center was pleased to have our talented guest, Rick Cambell, with his musical ability, playing and singing beautiful songs such as Silver Wings, Walking after Midnight, Love Me Tender. Rick blessed the noon meal, everyone enjoyed their dinner.

A birthday celebration was given in honor of Anita Weathers.

This Thursday, June 14. Games will be played. Feel free to come visit the Woodlawn Community Center at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 north. Come early for a cup of coffee and a friendly face.
