Shelby Lavell Stokes, 83 of Cabot passed away on Friday June 23, 2017. “PawPaw” was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and an avid Arkansas Razorback and Oklahoma City Thunder fan who loved to fish with his son, tinker in his shop, haggle at a flea market, golf and attend any activity that his grandchildren were involved in. He was a retired auto mechanic and for 62 years, was the devoted husband of Emily Fisher Stokes. He was truly an All American shade tree mechanic who could fix anything. His “safe zone” was sitting on his back porch watching the kids play.

Shelby was preceded in death by his parents; Robert and Eva Stokes, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife Emily, his son Mark ( Laura) Stokes, three daughters; Sharon (Robert) Garner, Robbie Morris, Kim ( Bryan) Gullahorn, all of Cabot; one brother; Bob (Juanita) Stokes of Camden, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Tuesday June 27 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home. Please sign the guestbook at www.mooresfuneralhome.com
