Donald Chapman “D.C.” Brooks, 84, of Cabot died Thursday, July 6, 2017.


Brooks was born Nov. 3, 1932 in Huntington, W.V. to the late Herbert Andrew and Pauline Holley Wallace. He was a retired accounting manager with Remington-DuPont. D.C. loved camping and fishing, gardening and his family. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist faith.


In addition to his patents, D.C. was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Busby, brother-in-law, Bob (Bugar) Busby and nephew, Robert J. Busby.


D.C. is survived by his wife, Mamie Tustison Brooks; daughter, Deborah Brooks Miller and her companion, Dan Smith; stepson, Jeffrey W. Blackwell (Paula); grandson, Joseph A. Blackwell and Joseph’s mother, Melissa; two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
