Friday is shaping up to be a day to remember.

At least for the seniors on the Cabot baseball team.

That morning, at 10 a.m., they’re set to play Springdale Har-Ber for the Class 7A title, then, win, lose or draw, it is back on the bus, for graduation that night at North Little Rock’s Verizon Arena.

Graduation is set to be at 7 p.m.

The game, that morning, will be at Baum Stadium, on the campus of the University of Arkansas. Assuming the weather holds up.

The National Weather Service is predicting morning thunderstorms with a 40 percent chance of rain.

Cabot, the top seed from the 7A-Central, enters the game at 24-7 overall and riding an obvious state tournament winning streak. The Panthers last lost on April 27 to Bryant. They ended the regular season with a win against North Little Rock.

In the state tournament they beat, Catholic 3-1, followed that with a bit of revenge and defeated Bryant 14-4 in the semifinals.

This will be Cabot’s first game against Har-Ber this season.

Har-Ber is 22-9 overall and got to the state finals by beating Fort Smith Southside, 10-7, North Little Rock, 5-3 and in the semifinals took down Fayetteville, 8-1.

They entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed from the 7A-West.
