Something has to give on Saturday.

Cabot faces Bentonville for the Class 7A girls title at 4 p.m. on Saturday and the two teams are a combined 44-5, with Cabot ranked No. 1 in the latest poll, while Bentonville is No. 2 in the same poll.

Bentonville opened the season with two losses and last lost to Ozark, Mo. on April 8 as all the losses were to out-of-states teams.

Cabot lost to Fayetteville and Little Rock Christian during the regular season, but haven’t lost since March 8 and reeled off 16 consecutive regular season wins and beat Bryant, 4-2, in the quarterfinals, then followed with a 2-0 win against Fayetteville in the semifinals to get to the state championship game.

The title match will be played at Razorback Field on the campus of the University of Arkansas and will be the last of the day.

Or at least that’s the schedule. The National Weather Service is forecasting a 100 percent chance of rain that day.
