Six Lonoke Sharkrockets earned gold or silver standing in various events as the Central Arkansas Swim League got under way Saturday at Sherwood against the host Sharks and Saline County Barracudas.


Swimmers compete in their age divisions for bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels. All platinum, gold and silver swimmers will qualify for the season-ending Meet of Champs. At least eight bronze swimmers will qualify in each event.


James Hackney earned gold status in boys 9-10 age division 50-yard freeestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. He finished second in backstroke in 41.62 seconds, second in breaststroke in 49.28, third in freestyle in 33.72 and fourth in butterfly in 43.75.


Tristan Bennett earned gold in girls 15-18 age division 50 freestyle and backstroke and 100 individual medley and silver in 50 breaststroke. She won the backstroke in 36.56 and breaststroke in 41.90 and finished second in the freestyle (30.31) and IM (1:16.79).


Jimmy Evans made gold in 15-18 boys in 50 freestyle, backstroke and butterfly and silver in 50 breaststroke. He won the 50 freestyle in 26.50 and took second in backstroke (34.40), breaststroke (39.85) and butterfly (30.53).


Tanner Edwards qualified for gold in 15-18 boys 50 butterfly and silver in 50 freestyle, backstroke and 100 IM. He won the IM in 1:15.85 and took second in freestyle (28.08) and backstroke (38.06) and third in butterfly (32.09).


Jackson Mason earned silver in 13-14 boys 50 freestyle, finishing fourth in 33.07. In bronze, he won the 50 backstroke in 51.10, took eighth in the 50 butterfly (42.90) and 13th in 50 breaststroke (56.84).


Matthew Bowles made silver in 9-10 boys 50 breaststroke, taking second in 51.34. His bronze results were 11th in 50 butterfly (55.70) and 16th in 50 freestyle (45.09) and backstroke (55.31).

Blaine Henderson, second in 15-18 boys 50 backstroke (42.19) and third in 50 freestyle (32.32);


• Jake Rochelle, sixth in 13-14 boys 50 backstroke (46.61); 11th in 50 freestyle (35.56) and 14th in 50 breaststroke (1:15.95);


• Luke Hill, ninth in 11-12 boys 50 backstroke (58.22) and 15th in 50 freestyle (55.77);


Kenner Gosney, 11th in 9-10 boys 50 breaststroke (1:02.00); 13th in 50 freestyle (43.60) and 15th in 50 butterfly (1:13.93);


• Kanon Williams, sixth in 9-10 boys 100 IM (2:01.92); 18th in 50 breaststroke (1:09.00); 19th in 50 freestyle (45.69); and 21st in 50 backstroke (56.78);


• Jacob Whittenburg, 49th in 9-10 boys 50 freestyle (1:28.03);


Lauren Hill, 21st in 9-10 girls 50 backstroke (1:38.06);


Noah Johnson, 30th in 7-8 boys 25 freestyle (43.28);


Case Morgan, 21st in 7-8 boys 25 backstroke (36.37) and 22nd in freestyle (31.42);


• Katie Beth Whittenburg, 22nd in 7-8 girls 25 freestyle (44.45);


Annabella Addison, seventh in girls 6 and under 25 freestyle, 37.90; and backstroke, 42.11.


The Sharkrockets will travel to Otter Creek on Saturday to face the host Otters and the Sherwood Sharks.
