Carlisle’s Lady Bison finished fourth last week in the Class 2A Girls State Golf Tournament — the best finish in school history.
The Lady Bison shot a team score of 363 at DeGray Golf Course near Arkadelphia, behind Camden Harmony Grove (293), Salem (325) and Spring Hill (334).
Quitman was fifth at 380, followed by Magnet Cove, 383; Mountainburg, 384; McCrory, 393; Marked Tree, 403; Magazine, 407; and Bigelow, 422.
Senior Kylie Warren tied for seventh with 108 to earn all-state honors. Other Lady Bison scores included Jada Ferguson, 120; and Gracie Brown, 135.
The Lady Bison had finished runner-up to McCrory in the 6-2A District Tournament at Grand Prairie Country Club in Hazen to earn a state tournament berth.
“I would like to say thank you to the girls for working hard this season,” coach Jason Stewart said.
Carlisle senior Houston Garrich was scheduled to compete Tuesday in the Class 2A Boys State Tournament at Conway Country Club. Results weren’t available by press time. Garrich had shot 94 at the district tournament to qualify individually
