The Cabot Lady Panthers beat Little Rock Christian 60-44 in a benefit game last week at Panther Arena.
Cabot led 17-12 after one quarter then put some distance between itself and Christian in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Warriors 20-7 to lead 37-19 at halftime.
Cabot pushed its lead to 49-29 after three quarters. Little Rock Christian outscored Cabot 15-11 in the final eight minutes to set the final score.
Cabot coach Carla Crowder was proud of her team’s effort against the Lady Warriors.
“The girls played hard in the win,” she said. “They played well defensively. They are good kids and they work hard. We’ll do the best we can do this season.”
Lesley Roberts led Cabot with 12 points. Izzy Arnold had 9. Brooklyn Stracner had 7. Scoring 5 each were Anna Wilson, Gabby Dodson and Dejah Jimerson. Chloe Thompson scored 4. Scoring 3 each were Blair Nichols, Jayna Davis and Hannah Chandler. Scoring 2 each were Emily Belin and Morgan Westbrook.
Thompson and Roberts led Cabot with 6 rebounds each. Grabbing 5 each were Chandler and Belin.
Cabot has seven seniors on the roster. They are Thompson, Kenzie Wagner, Jessica Specht, Roberts, Allie Grisham, Chandler and Morgan Westbrook.
Cabot played Forrest City in the first round of the Heavenly Hoopfest at Mount St. Mary in Little Rock on Monday.
