Lonoke’s Jackrabbits beat Mayflower last week in their first action following the Christmas break, 71-68, but they lost to eStem on Friday, 64-33.
“We didn’t play very well,” said Dean Campbell, whose team fell to 9-9 heading into Tuesday’s game with Bauxite to start the second half of the conference round-robin. “A lot of the things that we practiced and focused on, we did not do. They out-rebounded us and got out in transition, and we didn’t keep them out of the lane.
“Those are all things we worked on.”
The Mets started quickly, leading after one quarter, 15-6; and at halftime, 29-15. eStem led after three quarters, 46-27.
Tyriqe Jackson led Lonoke with nine points.
The Jackrabbits will visit Joe T. Robinson (7-8 at press time) on Friday after falling to the Senators in the first meeting, 64-59. They’ll visit Baptist Prep, the defending Class 4A state champion, on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Baptist opened the week 13-4, including a 63-41 win over the Jackrabbits.
“It doesn’t get any easier. We’ve got by far one of the toughest blended leagues in our classification.”
