The Cabot Panthers baseball team improved to 15-4 on the season with wins against Little Rock Catholic and North Little Rock in its last two games.


Cabot is 6-2 in 7A-Central play, two games behind first place Bryant, which is 8-0 in league play.


In the win over Catholic, the Panthers trailed 1-0 after two innings. They tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth then scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to lead 5-1. The Rockets scored once in the sixth but the Panthers got that run back in the bottom of the frame.


Cabot’s Brodel Schluter hit a home run in the victory. Also scoring runs were Houston King, Clayton Gray, Rail Gilliam and Jackson Olivi.


Cabot had five hits. King, Schluter, Zach Morris, Gilliam and Olivi had one hit each.


Schluter got the win. He gave up one earned run in six innings of work, striking out three.


In the win over North Little Rock, the score was tied until the bottom of the sixth when the Panthers took a 2-1 lead. Morris singled and scored on a fielder’s choice to give the Panthers the lead. Olivi singled and scored in the third inning.


Cabot had seven hits in the victory. Getting hits were Clay, King, Morris, Dillon Thomas, Austin Scritchfield, Gilliam and Olivi.


Morris got the win, going seven innings. He struck out 12 while allowing only three hits.
