The Cabot Centennial Bank Senior American Legion baseball team improved to 11-5 with a 2-1 win against Vilonia last Thursday at the Cabot Water Park and Sports Complex.
Vilonia led 1-0 after the second inning.
Cabot took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Brian Tillery was hit by a pitch to start the inning. He went to second when Logan Bell walked. They both advanced one base on a passed ball.
After the next two batters were retired, Blayse Quarnstrom reached on an error, allowing both Tillery and Bell to score and give Cabot a 2-1 lead.
After two batters reached in the top of the seventh with two outs, Quarnstrom came in to pitch and struck out the two batters he faced to end the game to earn a save.
Cabot had chanced to score in every inning but the fifth.
They left the bases loaded in the first. They left a runner at second base in the second. They had runners at second and third in the third in the third. They had several runners on base in the fourth.
Cabot had only one hit in the victory. Kyler Franks had a single in the second. Cabot also received seven base on balls.
Brock Martin got the win. He pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and one walk. Hunter Price pitched four innings. He struck out four while allowing three hits and an unearned run.
